 Associated Vision Consultants is a group of specialty, fellowship-trained and experienced ophthalmologists who provide diagnostic, medical, laser and surgical care for a wide variety of vision threatening disorders.
We perform consultation and second opinions or assist in the care of patients referred by other physicians.
We also provide initial evaluation and continuing care to patients who come to AVC for their eye care.
AVC doctors work closely with other local specialists to meet the needs of those patients who require additional management for LASIK, Refractive surgery, and Cornea surgery, Oculoplastic surgery, Neuroophthalmology, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Low Vision Services.

New Treatment Which Promises Help for Many Patients With Macular Degeneration
Robert P. Blau, M.D. has been providing medical and surgical management for Vitreo-retinal problems since 1973. He completed his Residency at Sinai Hospital of Detroit and a fellowship in Vitreo-retinal Surgery at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI. He has been in private practice in the Detroit area since that time and is on the teaching faculty of The Detroit Medical Center and Sinai-Grace Hospital. He has contributed to the understanding of diseases of the retina and vitreous through multiple clinical presentations and publications. 
Marshall N. Cyrlin, M.D. did his Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois, Eye and Ear Infirmary and did a Clinical and Research Fellowship in Glaucoma at Harvard University, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Cyrlin is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a charter member of the American Glaucoma Society specialty group. He is Director of the Glaucoma Service at Beaumont Eye Institute, Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Cyrlin has an appointment as Clinical Professor of Biomedical Sciences (Ophthalmology), Eye Research Institute, Oakland University and has been actively involved in clinical trials of glaucoma pharmaceutical agents. He has published several book chapters and numerous papers dealing with glaucoma diagnostics and therapeutics and has lectured nationally and internationally. Dr. Cyrlin has received an Honor Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has been listed in Best Doctor’s in America.
Dr. Asher Weiner joined Associated Vision Consultants in 2001 from his former positions as Director of Ophthalmology and Director of University Ophthalmic Consultants at Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn, New York. He is a Clinical Associate Professor in Biomedical Sciences (Ophthalmology) at the Research Eye Institute, Oakland University, as well as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at State University of New York (SUNY Downstate). In addition to his residency in Ophthalmology, Dr. Weiner completed a Clinical Fellowship in Glaucoma at The Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, and he previously completed a Clinical Fellowship at The Harvard University Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Ocular Electrophysiology. Dr. Weiner is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a Member of the American Glaucoma Society.
